Based in Essex County, the Greater Amherstburg Tennis League is now in its 9th season. It derived its name from the former Amherstburg Men’s Tennis League or Amherstburg Open which began in 2003. However, make no mistake, the GATL is Essex county-wide and is the #1 outdoor public tennis league in the region. Currently, there are over 350 members (active and non-active) and those numbers continue to increase. Along with the regular season and playoffs, the GATL also hosts two tournaments each summer. In 2022, we were extremely pleased to partner with the Zekelman Tennis Centre at St. Clair College. Our Championships are contested at the ZTC during September. In 2024, Parkside Tennis Club invited the GATL to host Thursday Night Tennis (TNT) during the summer for Doubles & Mixed Doubles matches.
